When LEANING IN doesn’t feel like an option. What do you do?

This is what you do. You stand in courage, with F.E.A.R. This is how…

Courage is “the ability to do something that frightens one, strength in the face of pain or grief.”

So courage is ABILITY.

AND…

Fear is required.

Courage is strength.

AND…

Facing pain or grief is required.

Without fear, or facing pain or grief, there is no courage.

The origin of the word comes from the Latin word: Cor (Heart.)

Middle English denotes the heart as “the seat of feelings.”

Encourage yourself IN COURAGE.

Encourage yourself IN HEART.

How?

With F.E.A.R.

Encouraging yourself with COURAGE (HEART) in what you’re…

F – Feeling.

When you feel scared to death, paralysis, numbness, pain, and all the unknowns are rushing over you like a freight train, simply encourage yourself to feel them IN COURAGE.

Asking yourself, if I didn’t feel so scared right now, what would it feel like to be COURAGEOUS?

What TRUTH is your heart telling you?

E – Experiencing.

When you’re experience is a scary one. Unknown. Misunderstood.

Look further. Encourage yourself in what you’re experiencing. Not wishing it were different, but acknowledging your current situation.

Asking yourself what you can learn from the experience, and how you could experience courage in the midst of feeling afraid.

A – Asking.

This is for those times when you’re asking A LOT OF QUESTIONS, but they’re questions that lead to more doubt, fear, and discouragement.

Keep asking, but encourage yourself to ask different questions.

If your current questions are giving you the same answers, ask different questions.

R – Running (to or from.)

Encouraging yourself to meet yourself while you’re running, and find your rhythm of peace, calm, and steady. Resting while you run.

Invite yourself to come along side YOU and find a pace that works for courage.

This will allow you to not only face fear and do it anyway, but to also find your strength while being in pain or grief.

I find this comforting. Courage is a gift that’s available when we’re with fear, pain, or grief.

The way in is to stand IN COURAGE with FEAR.
